What changes

Run the season on numbers, not memory

Most boutiques know their collection by heart and their season by feel. The difference a system makes is that both become visible while there is still time to act on them.

Which pieces earn
Revenue and hire count per SKU, so you buy the next set on evidence rather than instinct.
When the season peaks
Bookings by month and by date, so you know which weekends are already full in September.
What is at risk
Deposits held, pieces overdue, agreements unsigned — on one screen instead of in your head.
What a piece is worth
Insured value, hire count and condition history against every item you own.

Inside the product

A December Saturday, handled properly

See the clash while you are still quoting, find the piece a customer half-described, run the counter from a phone, and send the family home with a signed agreement.

The season

Two families, one December Saturday

Confirmed bookings and open enquiries draw from the same collection. When both want the polki set for the 14th, the booking screen shows it while you are still quoting — so you offer the alternative set instead of making a call you cannot keep.

  • Confirmed and pending counted separately
  • Clashes shown per date, not per booking
  • Pieces out for repair excluded automatically
  • Alternatives suggested from the same category

Find the piece a customer described from memory

“Something in ruby, temple style, for a reception.” Categories, variants and your own custom fields — metal, stone, weight, occasion — make the collection searchable, so a trial appointment does not become an hour in the safe.

The counter

The boutique experience stays yours

Nothing about the system changes how a family is welcomed, how the trays come out, or how a set is styled for the bride. It changes what happens after they leave: the hold is real, the deposit is recorded, the agreement is signed, and the piece is photographed before it goes into the box.

  • Hold pieces for a trial without committing them
  • Quote from the trial, with the dates already reserved
  • Deposit, KYC and agreement completed at the counter
  • Condition photographed at handover and at return

What boutique owners tell us

Six things that cost a jewellery rental business

  • The same set promised to two weddings

Two families want the polki set for the same Saturday in December. Availability is worked out per day across confirmed bookings and open enquiries, so the clash appears when you are quoting — not the week of the wedding.

  • A stone missing and no photograph to prove it

Condition is recorded with photographs at handover and again at return, against that exact piece. A chipped stone or a bent clasp has a date, an image and a name beside it.

  • Deposits tracked in a notebook

A bridal set can be worth more than a car, so the deposit is the business. Deposits are held against the customer separately from the hire, released on a clean return or adjusted against damage.

  • You know the customer, but not on paper

Verify identity before a high-value piece leaves the counter — Aadhaar eKYC with phone OTP and DigiLocker in India, uploaded documents everywhere else — and keep it on the customer record.

  • A season that is over before you have counted it

By February you want to know what earned and what sat in the safe. Revenue and hire count per piece are there while the season is still running, not after it.

  • Trial appointments that go nowhere

An enquiry from Instagram, a trial at the boutique, then silence. Enquiries become quotations with the pieces and dates held, so a follow-up is one click rather than a search through messages.

The collection

Every piece catalogued the way a jeweller would

Each set is a serialised record with photographs, weight, metal and stone detail, insured value and its own hire history. Variants cover size and finish, and matching pieces can be hired as a set or separately.

  • Photographs and insured value per piece
  • Weight, metal and stone as custom fields
  • Sets hired whole or split into pieces

The books

GST invoices, deposits and what the season actually made

Invoices carry the right tax for the customer state, deposits sit apart from the hire charge, and damage or late-return charges are raised against the booking they came from — so the season adds up without a reconciliation weekend.

  • GST invoicing with CGST/SGST or IGST
  • Deposits held and released separately
  • Damage and late charges on the booking

FAQ

Jewellery rental software questions

What boutique owners ask before a demo.

Something else? or email sales@rentablez.com.

How is a high-value piece protected?

Three things work together: a security deposit held against the customer separately from the hire charge, identity verification before the piece leaves — Aadhaar eKYC with phone OTP and DigiLocker in India, documents elsewhere — and a condition record with photographs taken at handover and again at return, against that exact piece.

Can a set be hired whole or as separate pieces?

Both. A bridal set can be a kit that goes out as one line while reserving each piece, or the pieces can be hired individually. Availability stays correct either way, so a necklace out on its own shows the set as incomplete.

What happens if a stone is damaged or a piece is lost?

The return inspection records the damage with photographs against the piece. A charge is raised on the booking and can be settled from the deposit, and the piece is blocked from the next hire until it comes back from repair.

Can customers see the collection online?

Yes. The web store is a public catalogue on your own subdomain where customers browse and check real availability for their wedding dates. Requests arrive as enquiries you quote and approve — nothing is auto-confirmed.

Does it handle the wedding-season rush?

Availability is calculated per day across confirmed bookings and open enquiries, so a December Saturday that is already committed shows as such while you are still quoting. Booking counts by month show where the season peaks.

Can I see which pieces are worth keeping?

Yes. Revenue and hire count are tracked per piece and per category, alongside insured value, so you can see what earns its place in the safe and what does not.

Is GST handled for Indian boutiques?

Yes. Invoices apply CGST and SGST or IGST automatically from the customer state, an organisation can hold more than one GSTIN, and payments are collected through Razorpay, PhonePe or UPI as well as cash and bank transfer.

Is there a free trial?
